About Us

Our Mission Is Financial Confidence for Every Community

Apex Credit Strategies was founded on a simple belief: that access to quality financial education shouldn't depend on your zip code, income, or background.

Our Mission

Why We Do This Work

Financial literacy is one of the most powerful tools a person can have — and one of the least equitably distributed. We started Apex Credit Strategies to change that, one community at a time.

We work exclusively with organizations that are already embedded in the communities they serve: nonprofits, re-entry programs, housing authorities, schools, and faith-based organizations. That trust is the foundation everything else is built on.

Every workshop we deliver is adapted to the specific population in the room. The language, the examples, the pace — all of it is designed to meet people where they are and give them tools they can use the next day.

Community First

We go where the community already is. We don't ask people to come to us — we partner with the organizations they already trust.

Practical Over Theoretical

Every session ends with a concrete action plan. We measure success by what participants do after the workshop, not just what they learned during it.

Culturally Responsive

Financial stress looks different across communities. Our curriculum is adapted to reflect the real experiences of the people in the room.

Accountability Through Data

We track outcomes — safe account openings, dollars saved, confidence scores — and share that data transparently with our partners.

Apex Credit Strategies is led by Ja-vell Smith, a practitioner whose credentials rarely exist together in one person. Ja-vell holds certifications as a Family Partner Advocate, a CASA/T Certified professional, and a Certified Credit Counselor — while bringing over seven years of hands-on experience as an Employment Specialist.

That combination is intentional. Ja-vell's approach connects the dots that most financial education leaves separate: employment and income, budgeting, and housing stability. When people understand how those three things work together, real financial confidence becomes possible.

Our Reach

Who We Serve

Our workshops are designed for a wide range of populations. We adapt our curriculum, language, and approach to meet each group where they are.
